Another year is about to end. I cannot believe that 2024 flew so fast and we are already at the end of it, just 10 days left. And apart of all 4 post that I managed to write here, I’ve actually managed to achieve some great stuff, when we look at the bigger picture.
And is turns out that I am better at keeping memories when I write them down in a blog (I found out that I am not good at keeping diaries), let’s follow the latest tradition of doing it here. Future me will be delighted. 🙂
Work
The work year was long and absolutely challenging as starting from January my team started leaving, but we managed to keep up. I worked a lot and it actually paid off as I was promoted to Assistant team manager just year after being promoted to Senior Project manager.
I also started a book club within the company to inspire more reading and broaden the company culture.
Travel
I love to travel and this year I was really able to do so. And I’m thankful to God that he helped me have the finances to fund all of this. My biggest achievement on this front was actually that I got the confidence and bravery to travel alone. It was refreshing and opened the door for many more solo travels in the future. I have travelled to somewhere during every month of the year. I travelled by car, by bus, by train, by plane and by ship.
In Bulgaria, I visited Kazanluk again in February, went to Pomorie in May/June, then to Obzor in August. Had multiple visits to Sofia, where my office is and also stayed with a friend to her house in a village near Pernik.
I went to Istanbul with my mom this July, which marked my second visit to Turkey and proved that not knowing the local language might be a struggle. Nevertheless, I’m planning another visit to the country as mom loved it a lot.
And maybe the top of the top was me visiting Budapest in September. I stayed for 6 days and it was one of the best experiences in my whole life. I hope to visit it again in near future and maybe explore Hungary a bit more this time. Hungarian is a very difficult language, but this cannot stop me.
Music
In 2024 I somehow managed to listen to less music than usual – just around 10K songs played. As usual – a lot of EXO and EXO’s members solo music. I found again a favourite metal band – AWS, which I somehow forgot are Hungarian. I also got a new fave – A Király Halott. Another new band in my radar, this time from Germany was Heldmaschine, thanks to my friend Gesa. Ahh, and of course – from South Korea – KAVE!!!
At the end of August I went to the Ed Sheeran’s concert in Sofia. Calum Scott was opening act and I’m so glad that I also saw him live. Ed made amazing show – an experience to remember for a long time.
Books
I managed to read 50 books this year and the longest series I’ve read in one go – Zodiac Academy. More about it is visible on Goodreads. I’m actually happy about this count. Less than I wanted and more than the last year. I’m scared to count how many books I’ve purchased, so this is staying a secret even from me. Hehe.
Honestly, looking back I can now say it was a really really good year.
What about yours?
xoxo
